Life

THIS IS HOW WE MISS OUT SOMETHING CALLED "LIFE"


A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the
bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child
collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.


QUESTIONS :

2. What is the implication of this story?


ANSWER :
The husband just said "I am with you Darling"

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point
in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. "A journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step". Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are
actually not as difficult as you think.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

This story is really worth reading. ..... Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship,
in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out something called LIFE

When a woman lies


One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, 'My dear child, why are you crying?'

The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family.
The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set with sapphires.'Is this your thimble?' the Lord asked .
The seamstress replied, 'No.'The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a golden thimblestudded with rubies.'Is this your thimble?' the Lord asked. Again, the seamstress replied, 'No.'

The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble.'Is this your thimble ?' the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, 'Yes.' The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy. Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, 'Why are you crying?'
'Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!' The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney. 'Is this your husband?' the Lord asked.
'Yes,' cried the seamstress.
The Lord was furious. 'You lied! That is an untruth!
'The seamstress replied, 'Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to George Clooney, you would have come up with Brad Pitt. Then if I said 'no' to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord, I'm not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, THAT'S why I said 'yes' to George Clooney. And so the Lord let her keep him.
The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it's for a good and honorable reason, and in the best interest of others. That's our story, and we're sticking to it.

Modern Love

A young man goes into a pharmacy and asks the pharmacist: "Hello, could you give me a condom.
My girlfriend has invited me for dinner and I think she is expecting something from me!"
The pharmacist gives him the condom; and as the young man is going out, he returns and tells him: "Give me another condom because my girlfriend's sister very cute too. She always crosses her legs in a provocative manner when she sees me and I think she expects something from me too." The pharmacist gives him a second condom;
and as the boy is leaving he turns back and says: "After all, give me one more condom because my
girlfriend's mom is still pretty cute and when she sees me she always makes allusions... and since she invited me for dinner, I think she is expecting something from me!!

During dinner, the young man is sitting with his girlfriend on his
left, the sister on his right and the mom facing him. When the dad gets there, the boy lowers
his head and starts praying: "Dear Lord, bless this dinner...thank you for all you give us...!!!" A minute later the boy is still praying: "Thank you Lord for your kindness..." Ten minutes go on and the boy is still praying, keeping his head down.
The others look at each other surprised and his
girlfriend even more than the others. She gets close to the boy and tells him in his ear:
"I didn't know you were so religious!!!" The boy replies :"I didn't know your dad was a pharmacist!!!"

“Women” Difficult to please
A store that sells husbands has just opened where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is composed of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.
There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building.
So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs.
The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So up she goes.
The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids.
The woman remarks to herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's further up?" And up she goes again.
The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking.
"Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?"
The fourth floor sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking and help with the housework.
"Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!" And again she heads up another flight.
The fifth floor sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak.
"Oh, mercy me! But just think... what must be awaiting me further on?" So up to the sixth floor she goes.

Floor 6 - You are visitor 6,875,953,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

HOW CAN I HELP MY CHILD BE READY TO READ AND
READY TO LEARN?
✪ Talk to your infant and toddler to help him learn to speak and understand
the meaning of words. Point to objects that are near and describe them as
you play and do daily activities together. Having a large vocabulary gives a
child a great start when he enters school.
✪ Read to your baby every day starting at six months of age. Reading and
playing with books is a wonderful way to spend special time with her.
Hearing words over and over helps her become familiar with them. Reading
to your baby is one of the best ways to help her learn.
✪ Use sounds, songs, gestures and words that rhyme to help your baby learn
about language and its many uses. Babies need to hear language from a
human being. Television is just noise to a baby.
✪ Point out the printed words in your home and other places you take your
child such as the grocery store. Spend as much time listening to your child
as you do talking to him.
✪ Take children’s books and writing materials with you whenever you leave
home. This gives your child fun activities to entertain and occupy him
while traveling and going to the doctor’s office or other appointments.
✪ Create a quiet, special place in your home for your child to read, write and
draw. Keep books and other reading materials where your child can easily
reach them.
✪ Help your child see that reading is important. Set a good example for your
child by reading books, newspapers and magazines.
✪ Limit the amount and type of television you and your child watch. Better
yet, turn off the television and spend more time cuddling and reading
books with your child. The time and attention you give your child has many
benefits beyond helping him be ready for success in school.
✪ Reach out to libraries and community and faith-based organizations. These
organizations can:
★ Help you find age-appropriate books to use at home with your
child;
★ Show you creative ways to use books with your child and other
tips to help her learn; and

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS1. No Breakfast People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
2. Overeating It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.
3. Smoking It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
4. High Sugar consumption Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
5. Air Pollution The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.
6. Sleep Deprivation Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.
7. Head covered while sleepingSleeping with the head covered, increases the accumulation of carbon dioxide, and decreasing percentage of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
8. Working your brain during illness Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

The main causes of liver damage are:
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are the main causes.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) Foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store. We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to ‘schedule.’
Because:
Evening at 9 – 11 PM is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.
Evening at 11pm - 1 am:As the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 1 - 3 am:Detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 3 - 5 am: Detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory track, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
Morning 5 - 7am:Detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.
Morning 7 - 9 am:Absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am, for those who are sick.
Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.

Childless Couple

Childless couple.
There once was a husband and wife who were unable to have children. After consulting everyone who would listen to their problem, they were still unsatisfied. Finally, they consulted their family priest. "My children," the priest began, "The Lord will listen to your prayers, and I am sure that you will be blessed with children shortly. In fact, I am planning an extended stay in Rome, and while I'm visiting the Vatican, I will light a candle for you." "Thank you, Father, thank you!" said the couple. Before leaving, the priest turned and said, "I am sure everything will work out just fine for you. My stay in Rome will be for quite some time--15 years. But when I return, I will be sure to pay you a visit."

Modern Panchtantra Story [ IT HUMOR ]

Once upon a time

, there was a software engineer who used to develop programs on his Pentium machine, sitting under a tree on the banks of a river. He used to earn his bread by selling those programs in the Sunday market.

One day, while he was working, his machine tumbled off the table and fell in the river. Encouraged by the Panchatantra story of his childhood

He started praying to the River Goddess. The River Goddess wanted to test him and so appeared only after one month of rigorous prayers. The engineer told her that he had lost his computer in the river.

As usual, the Goddess wanted to test his honesty. She showed him a match box and asked, "

Is this your computer ?

" Disappointed by the Goddess' lack of computer awareness, the engineer replied, " No."

She next showed him a pocket-sized calculator and asked if that was his.
Annoyed, the engineer said "

No, not at all !!"

Finally, she came up with his own Pentium machine and asked if it was his.
The engineer, left with no option, sighed and said "Yes."

The River Goddess was happy with his honesty. She was about to give him all three items, but before she could make the offer, the engineer asked her, "Don't you know that you're supposed to show me some better computers before bringing up my own ?"

The River Goddess, angered at this, replied, "I know that, you stupid donkey! The first two things I showed you were the Trillennium and the Billennium, the latest computers from IBM !". So saying, she disappeared with the Pentium!!

Moral: If you're not up-to-date with technology trends, it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're a genius than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Examination





Examination System (A suggestive note to brig an over all change)
The present examination system does not cater to the needs of the learners and
the society at large. If we look back in the past, we find that it served the purpose well and as such the learner and the society were fully satisfied with the system.
It was so because the Certificate/ Degree awarded after the completion of a term
was a guarantee of learners’ achievements, No, one talked about percentage of score at that time. Then learners were merely asked about the division they obtained.
After that there was no other examination before joining a job, a higher branch of studies or even an specialization.
The present set up has laid more provisions for evaluation than learning. As such examination, ultimately Certificate? Degree is always at the focus. Real learning has gone to a secondary place, resulting in creating a disbelief in the authenticity of these certificates/ Degrees. Now they do not carry any such guarantee about the acquired knowledge.
The changed circumstances gave birth to a second line of evaluation, where the
employer out of his disbelief re-examines the applicants to ascertain their achievements. Now look at the fun a promissory note carries more weight than a
Certificate / Degree obtained from a reputed government institution or university.
So every time one goes to a new job or a special branch of studies he will have to
take a new examination. Even the Government does so, what to mention about other agencies.
All this is done in the name of competition. Well and good, thus you can justify the existence of examinations at all entry-levels. How would you then justify the need of examinations at the terminal levels. At that level it automatically becomes superfluous.
By this article I just want to draw the attention of the readers and to make them think and evolve a system that eliminates this duplicate examination system and emerge with a new system where the learners are not exploited in the name of examination.

New Year (Hindu Calender)

Vikram Samvat (hindu Calender) Entry for April 08, 2008
The Vikram era, or Vikram samvat is an Indian calendar starting in 57 BCE. The date is supposed to mark the victory of king Vikramaditya over the Sakas, who had invaded Ujjain. To the new era was established to commemorate this event. Alternatively, it is thought to correspond to the Azes era, of the Indo-Scythian king Azes I.



Kalakacharya and the Saka King (Kalakacharya Katha-Manuscript,Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai

The story is described in "Kalakacharya Kathanaka", a work by a Jain sage called Mahesara Suri (Probably circa 12th century CE). The Kathanaka (meaning, "an account") tells the story of a famed Jain monk Kalakacharya. It mentions that Gardabhilla, the then powerful king of Ujjain, abducted a nun called Sarasvati who was the sister of the monk. The enraged monk sought help of the Saka ruler, a "Sahi", in Sakasthana. Despite heavy odds (but aided by miracles) the Saka king defeated Gardabhilla and made him a captive. Sarasvati was repatriated. Gardabhilla himself was forgiven though. The defeated king retired to the forest where he was killed by a tiger. His son, Vikramaditya, being brought up in the forest, had to rule from Pratishthana (in modern Maharashtra). Later on Vikramaditya invaded Ujjain and drove away the Sakas. To commemorate this event he started a new era called the Vikrama era.

Bhoja, another great Indian king also wanted to start a calendar on his name. But his wise ministers and courtiers denied him the right to start an era, because he could not equal Vikramaditya's greatness. Vikramaditya's greatness was measured by the fact that nobody in Vikramaditya's rule had any debt or loan, i.e. all the public was debt-free during his reign.

A Stranger was seated next to a little Girl on the Airplane, when the Stranger turned to her and said, 'Let's talk.

I've heard that Flights go Quicker if you strike up a Conversation with your fellow Passenger.

The little Girl, who had just opened her Book, closed it slowly and said to the Stranger,

'What would you like to talk about ?'

'Oh, I don't know', said the Stranger. ' How about Nuclear Power ? '

'OK,' she said. 'That could be an Interesting Topic. But, let me ask you a Question first. A Horse, a Cow, and a deer, all Eat the same stuff, grass. yet, a deer excretes little Pellets, while a Cow turns out a Flat Patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass ............... Why do you suppose That is so ?'

The Stranger thinks about it and says, ' Hmmm, I have no Idea ! '

The Power Of Love Once there was a great poet in Sanskrit ,named Kali Das often compared to Shakespeare in English . In his early days he was a fool .Once
he was found cutting the same branch of a tree on which he was sitting .
His beloved refused to marry him saying he was a fool & that she would only marry him if he defeated her in argument in open public in presence of the king .
The enemies of the lady came to know of this .They planned to teach her a lesson ,So they accepted the challenge on behalf of Kali Das .They pretended him to be deaf & dumb .
The argument started & the questions were given in the language of the deaf & dumb .In her first question the lady one finger .Kali Das showed two in return .The interpretation given was that one finger meant that there was one God .
The reply given by showing two fingers was interpreted as there are two gods .One
Is the Almighty having no form & the other is the one which takes the form such as
Jesus Christ , Lord Buddha .Ram , Krishna , Prophet Mohd. & others .
In her second question the lady showed her open palm as if to slap somebody .Kali Das answered it by showing his fist .The question meant human beings are made of five elements namely earth ,sky (Pran ) ,Sun ,water & air .
The answer said ‘As the five fingers combine to form a fist , the five elements combine to make a human being .
Both the answers were accepted as correct & Kali Das was declared the
Winner .He was married to his beloved .On the very first night the lady asked him
As to how did he reply her questions .He said that he thought looking at the finger
That she would pick her finger into his eye so he showed two meaning that he pick
Two fingers in both of her eyes & make her blind ( Tit for tat ). She lost all control
& turned her out of the house saying that she would not accept him as her husband
unless he acquired highest knowledge & proved his worth .
Kali Das left to an unknown place ,found a good teacher ,learnt Sanskrit
& became the greatest poet & dramatist in Sanskrit like Shakespeare in English .
Such is the power of love .

Anxiety

Anxiety (Man’s greatest enemy)

Once there lived a young boy of 12 years in Delhi , the capital place of India. He lived in a market street . One day while the boy was standing on the
road , a royal elephant passed that way . The royal servants were taking it to the
river to give the elephant a dip & bath .The boy saw the elephant coming but he didn’t move . When the elephant tried to remove the boy with his trunk , the boy
put his hands on to its tusks & pushed several yards back. The elephant bowed
before the boy & the boy allowed it to go .

From that day on wards whenever the elephant passed that way it always
bowed itself before the boy. After a few days the news reached the king . Highly
surprised , he asked his ministers how could a small boy of 12 do it . It’s unbelievable . While others kept mum , one stood up & said “ Your highness ! May I have two days’ to find out the answer to your question ?” The king readily agreed .

Next day before sunrise the minister went to the house of the boy & met his grandmother , the only adult in his family . He offered a handful of gold coins to her asking her to do a small job for him . She has never seen gold as her own .So She readily agreed .The minister asked her to send her son to the market I the market to bring some salt without giving him any money . He then left the house .

When the boy got up his grandmother asked him to bring some salt .She didn’t give him any money .The boy had no idea of getting things from the market .
He came to know that he had to pay money for that .Now he didn’t know how & where to get money from .The whole day passed .He didn’t have any food that day .
He couldn’t sleep at night . Next day too he couldn’t solve the problem .

At last the time came .The king & all his ministers assembled in disguise to.
watch .The boy was standing on the road .The royal elephant came as usual , saw the boy , caught by its trunk & threw away by the roadside .

The minister explained that the boy had tremendous strength because he
grew up without any anxiety .He had full confidence in himself. So he could easily push back the elephant .Now his confidence has shaken, so he lost his strength, and
he has easily been thrown away by the same elephant .

It is true to every one, may be a human being or any other being .

3. Experience
These are the three major tools of learning. Learning is the basic process in
life of a living being .It not only helps to survive but develop also .
The first fall teaches a doggy to beware of heights. Human beings, being the most advanced form of life are gifted with so many powers like imagination. Human beings are super beings simply they possess this power of imagination which enables him to learn certain things even without experiencing them . Such as a man wouldn’t need to fall in order to learn about heights.
Man is at a better place due to one more reason and it because he acquires a considerable amount of knowledge by Genetic Transfer. This genetic power is mostly responsible for individual differences . Now
He has to move forward having three tools in his hand and the environment around him to provide its full support.
There is a saying in Hindi “doodh ka jala chhanchh ko phoonk phoonk kar peeta hai “ meaning a man burnt by hot milk throws air by his mouth on to the curd water before sipping it .It simply means that experience moulds our behavior. I say “To err is human but to learn from it is divine .It will take you to
such heights that the whole world would look at you. Mahatma Gandhi, for example was such a man.
People like Siddhu ji (Once I heard him say it on a TV channel) say about him without understandings,”Majboori ka nam Mahatma Gandhi” meaning “Inability / Weakness thy name is Mahatma Gandhi”
Mahatma Gandhi was the strongest man of his time.
We should start our day with morning prayers and finish it by self evaluation welcoming a new tomorrow with newer experiences.

The Dream

Dream
( a real incident )
Once I was sleeping during day time .I had a pleasant dream in my
sleep .I wouldn’t describe the dream here as it’ll have a number of love scenes , making it an adult article .Mainly speaking I had my beloved in the
dream & in the last scene :Why not first ? Because of two reasons :If it were
the first ,I wouldn’t have seen other scenes as I woke up after that .

In the last scene I was dreaming that my beloved had come to me to my house & she was waking me up .I was so charmed by her beauty that I
couldn’t draw a partition line between the dream & the reality .In the dream
she wore the same clothes & her posture & the place where she was standing
were also the same .
On this incident I wrote a couplet in Hindi , which may be translated as :
“What a dream it was , the dream of today ,
The one in my dream was waking me up in real .”

The original script says :

“Aaj ka khwab bhi kya khwab tha ,
ke jo the khwab main wahi jaga rahe the hame .”
